The abandoned eldest daughter of the Su family, Su Liang, was regarded as a loser. She couldn't walk until she was four years old, didn't start speaking until five, and dropped out of school at age nine to venture into society. Everyone considered her a misfit, utterly worthless and incompetent. It was only later when she began shedding her disguises that everyone learned the truth. This seemingly destitute country girl, was, in fact, a true big boss! Mr. Gu: "My wife is very gentle and delicate. Nobody is allowed to bully her!" Everyone: "Mr. Gu, I think you might have some misunderstandings about your 'big boss' wife..."
"Boss! We've got a big order! Someone is offering a high price for you to take on a mission!"
Next to a rural fish pond, Su Liang holds a fishing rod in one hand while clutching a mobile phone in her other. With an indifferent tone, she responds, "What mission?"
"The young prince of the Gu family in Beijing was kidnapped this morning, the Gu family said that as long as you successfully accomplish this mission and rescue the young prince, you can name your price!"
Su Liang releases her grip on the fishing rod. The wind causes the brim of her straw hat to curl, her elegant fingers hold up her chin, and her gaze remains aloof, "Oh."
She has a refined and ethereal beauty, her temperament is out of ordinary, which doesn't blend with her rustic attire.
Situated amidst the villagers fishing, her extraordinary beauty and transcendent temperament stood out in stark contrast against her surroundings.
Seeing her lack of interest, the person on the other end of the call becomes anxious, "Boss! Are you really not considering it?"
Su Liang arches an eyebrow out of boredom, "Do I look like I need money?"
"..." You might not need money, boss, but who doesn't like more money?
"Boss, are you really not taking it?"
"Hmm…" Su Liang suddenly lifts her eyebrow and her eyes light up slightly, "Really fat!"
"...What's really fat?" The other party is confused.
"The fish I hooked is really fat." Su Liang curves her lips into a slight smirk, balances the phone on her shoulder, and skillfully reels in her catch.
"... " The other end is left speechless and promptly hangs up.
The villagers who've been fishing for half a day without much success instantly look at her with envy, "Su Liang, you've caught another fish?"
"Yikes, the bucket's almost full, isn't it?"
Someone took a look and gasped abruptly, "This is so odd, how come all the fish like her bait?"
"What's so odd about that? This girl has always been a freak. Every damn thing that happens to her is strange."
"Exactly..." someone glanced at her bucket, full of envy and jealousy.
The bucket was filled with a vibrant hue of yellow, all top-quality yellow croakers.
Su Liang was calm, as if she didn't hear a thing.
Ever since her childhood, she was so used to these types of comments she felt her ears growing callouses.
She casually replaced the fish bait and continued fishing.
Not long after, a rolling sound of a car wheel crushing the ground echoed from the asphalt path behind her. A black minivan slowly approached. As it passed by the pond, it stopped.
A man on the passenger seat lowered the car window, took off his sunglasses, and shouted at Su Liang, "Hey! Do you know any motels around this village?"
Su Liang didn't even blink her eyelids as though he wasn't there.
Enraged, the man in sunglasses jumped off the car and walked towards Su Liang, "I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?"
The other villagers were frightened by his stunt and stepped back.
Only Su Liang, she didn't even turn her head and nonchalantly replied, "Didn't your mother teach you to be polite?"
Caught off guard by such a retort from a rustic girl, he instantly raised his eyebrows, looking ferocious, rolled up his sleeves and marched towards Su Liang.
Just then, a furious roar echo from the van, "Infernal brat! Where do you think you're running off to?!"
Upon hearing this, the man in sunglasses instantly turned around, catching sight of a small figure agilely descending from the car, instantly roaring back, "You useless fool, Lao Er! Can't even keep an eye on a child!"
A child?
Su Liang's ears twitched slightly, subtly directing her gaze in that direction.
In front of the van, a little boy of about three to four years old, was rapidly running towards her with his short little legs.
The little boy had delicate features and a cold demeanor, his bright eyes as black as the night sky, revealing an icy chill.
His tightly pursed lips were somewhat pale. At first glance, he looked surprisingly similar to Su Liang.
Su Liang was taken aback. If she didn't clearly know what had happened back then, she would have almost thought this little boy was her own child!
